Junior Induction Day

After a brief introduction to Henri Matisse and his paper cut out images, the Junior pupils intending to enter The College for the next academic year undertook to create their own images made from cut out paper.  The pupils could choose to create any image using this technique, and they came up with some interesting results. The Art department looks forward to seeing them develop their artistic skills when they join The College next September.

Congratulations to all who entered the Gala Concert Poster Competition. The standard of the designs was very high and all of the entries will be published here in the coming days. Posted today are the 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize winners. The deer, which is seen on a regular basis around The College grounds was the inspiration for the winning entry by Molly Dunne in Form IV. Also drawing on inspiration from The College's environs was the second prize winner Julia Xie (Form V). The motifs found in her design are based on motifs found in The College Chapel. The third prize went to Pia Gromotka in Form IV.

Art and Craft Exhibition and Prize Evening, 2012

The annual Art and Craft  Exhibition and Prize Evening was held on Saturday Evening and was adjudicated by the artist Una Sealy. Una spent the afternoon viewing the pupils' work, and carefully selecting the prize winners as well as those who deserved distinction, commendation and special mention. Before she announced the winners she treated her audience to an insight into her work as an artist. It was a most enjoyable evening and we would like to thank Una for coming to visit The College.
