Form II Clay Modelling

Continuing on the theme of clay modelling today's post includes some recent work from Form II.  These clay models have been bisque fired and painted using acrylic paint.

Form Primary's Pottery

Some of the recent posts on SCC Art have included examples of excellent clay modelling from our Leaving Certificate pupils. Today's post is all about the youngest members of St. Columba's College. Like our senior pupils, Form Primary have also been developing skills in the medium of clay and have produced some great work. Examples of bisque fired models painted with acrylic paint can be seen below.

Transition Year Art Prize

Congratulations to Aoise Keogan Nooshabadi in Form IV who last night won the Transition Year Prize for Art (she was also awarded a joint prize for the Spirit of Transition Year). A full list of winners can be viewed HERE.

Aoise's most recent work in the Art Room was a group-work project which is posted below along with a review of the project which she wrote for displaying in the Art Department's 'Visual Diary' later this week.

Form IV reproduces

‘The Last Supper’

As the Trinity Term drew to a close our art classes became fewer and fewer. For the remaining two weeks out brief was to complete a group- work mural to be displayed in the art room. The idea of a recreation of the infamous and legendary “Last Supper” was explained to us. I knew this would be difficult as firstly the original is a challenging size as well as deciding the style that all of us would have follow.
